Stories

Good morning! It’s Saturday, y’all. And I don’t know about you, but I need a couple of days to rest my body. It’s been something of a physical week, and my poor back is feelin’ it! UGH!
I’ve also been pretty introspective of late. You know, people pass in and out of our orbit every day, but we rarely have the chance to know their story. So it’s easy to judge others based on superficial attributes; their clothes, their language, their makeup, even their job, where they live… We need to get it in our heads and hearts…they have a story. In fact, they have a lifetime’s worth of story that you and I know nothing about. And their story is not only the pretty picture they present to us; it’s not only their tales of joy and fun and happiness. Their story, (like yours) is likely also full of suffering, heartache, pain. Because most of us have such stories. So do what you can to inject a little extra kindness, a little extra compassion, a little extra love in an outward direction. All the time. To me, that is “praying unceasingly”. Because the way we treat one another is our most important conversation with God.

We can elect a new president, new congressmen, they can appoint new judges… but without US doing things for one another, we are lost.f60248320
