Ok, all you fellow 50-somethings. I think we are at a point in our lives when we are just coming to “get” what is and isn’t oh, so important. Yes, money is important; we need it keep us healthy and comfortable. But equally, (if not more) important are family, friends, community, connection. We have come to learn that life is full of paradox; we know we are full of worth, that we have the world inside of us. And we also know that the Universe is vast, expanding, and we are but the most insignificant of specks. We have the experiences of loss, disappointment, regret, and we know that every moment is brim-full of possibility and opportunity. We know that the worlds of fancy in our heads, full of fairies, color-swirls and sweet poetry are just as real and essential as the world our bodies live in, full of want, hunger, need, sickness.
Fellow 50-somethings,
we are wise,
and we have so much to learn.
And we’re just getting this party started!
